Antique Indian dowry box from Malabar, Northern Kerala. Also known in India as "Nettur Petti". The lacquered box would have been made to hold jewelry and accessories and the shape is influenced by the architecture found on the Malabar coast. The box is hand painted and adorned with custom brass fittings and hinges.

Measures 12" wide x 9.5" deep x 8" tall.
